Hi, here the stream of Mux 11273H Astra 19,2E with switchover from national to regional streams. Hopefully the switch itself is recorded. I switched over to a new file at that moment the broadcast also switched. Pls tell me if the files are useless for you. Will make a new one.

I had a look at the sample streams, but I did not recognise anything that looked strange to me. 🙁 Perhaps someone else may have better luck.

Thx! I have no clue whats going on here, especially when you include that ORF2St HD is NOT encrypted in regional stream.

Another thing I found out:

I have an old cryptoworks card in CE Slot. When I shift to Cryptoworks for ORF2K HD channel, its working like a charm.
On the other side ORF2St HD is NOT encrypted at all. And switching is also not working.

Would be great if another expert can have a look on it.

What I want to make clear: the DVB Stream itself is always encrypted with Irdeto (was on cryptoworks where it works like a charm!!).

The freezing of the ORF2St stream also occurred when it was still being decoded via Cryptoworks, though recovery was possible by switching channels back and forth. However, full stream crashes began only after the transition from Cryptoworks to Irdeto.

This suggests the issue may be related to the decryption process itself. While ORF2K is always encrypted (both national and regional), ORF2St encrypts only the national feed. Since both streams are switched dynamically, each switch likely requires the decryption process to be reinitialized, renegotiated, or restarted.

Hi Phaze! I have analyzed some streams yesterday again. It seems to me that ORF streams are sometimes scrambled, but also sometimes not. Depends on the actual law of the content (look on ORF2E for Europe wide content). On national broadcast this "mixed" stream is than switched to all regional channels with same PID (3001, 3002, ...). Sometimes theses PIDS are scrambled streams, sometimes not. When then regional stream kicks in, PIDS are changed on all regional channels (3020 and above). This stream then is sometimes scrambled (ORF2K) but also sometimes not (ORF2St). Cryptoworks is still possible as ECMs are broadcasting, I tried it the last days, but you are right, its also only working after a direct restart of TVH. When it comes to a PID switch (regional stream), also cryptoworks is not working any more. It worked definitely a year ago. Sometimes changed in encryption of the braodcaster or in the way TVH decrypt. Both possible.

I think we should leave Cryptoworks - aside from troubleshooting purposes - out of the equation. It has been officialy replaced by Irdeto and is therefore deprecated.

With regards to switching between national and regional streams using PIDs I assume the possibilities to do this technically different than how it is done now is if at all limited. I suspect that there might something fishy in the standard procedure but on low level. Maybe faulty packets, wrong timing or something like this. But all this is reading tea leaves if we cannot observe and/or log it.

Is there a way to feed the recorded mux into TVH? This would make troubleshooting much easier compared to be able work on it only once per day at the exact given time.

Which subsystems do you want us to debug/trace? Only "tbl-base" for SDT?

I think the PAT and the PMT are the tables that we need, so 'tbl-base' should be the right subsystem.

It might sound like a newbie question, but it's been years since I last configured TVH. Starting TVH via CLI and feeding it with the mux works fine, but how do I log in to the admin interface? It keeps rejecting my usual credentials.

Use --noacl to bypass security for the duration of your testing. If I recall correctly, the WebUI will be in English only in this mode.

I mananged to get past the login prompt with "-C". However, the "Debugging" menu doesn't show up. What am I missing?

I managed to create a logfile for 'tbl-base.' However, the descrambling didn't work as planned, but I did get the ORF2St Stream tuned and running through. There might be something useful in the logfile, and the national/regional switch should be covered. My guess is, that the switch starts at 2025-10-28 12:02:52.557.
