Curious about your environment. What OS and harddrive type are you using? Also, do you have an UPS or similar to keep hard crashes from happening?
Did you know, you can restore that channels.sql from DataMgmt. From Data Mgmt, you can select a backup and only restore the Channels Database. Since you may be having issues with that, you may want to just delete the channels.db file from data/db and restart Cabernet. It will restore it to a clean version.
If you really want to disable daddylive channel updates, I would recommend disabling DL plugin totally, since stopping channel updates would cause additional issues. You can change the scheduler triggers for any task and delete/add triggers. However, removing all triggers from any task will cause the task to re-populate itself with the default trigger list on restart.
