Found this recently based on some Jellyfin post on Reddit. It seems like the only piece of software that actually takes web streams and makes them accessible. Looking at you xteve and threadfin. However, as a Plex user I can't seem to figure out what I am doing wrong.

I have Cabernet in a docker on a vm and my Plex in a different VM. I can access a channel via the http:// url from the Plex logs in VLC and see the stream, great. However, I can't get Plex to successfully stream it in the Live TV setup. I have tried various ways of adding the DVR/Tuner. With and without the \DaddyLive\ for example. Depending on my settings in Cabernet it will actually just crash Plex on trying to tune. And by settings, it's mostly just changing the internal or non internal proxy vs ffmpeg. It's also not clear if I should or should not enable the HDHR setting since Plex is I think using the web stream? From the random posts for Jellyfin it seems either could work??? I normally use my hdhr boxes in Plex with no issues but have removed them entirely for this for now. I have the IP set to the actual IP on the VM and that seems to produce a usable URL directly in the logs, so my guess is something with how the Plex tuner tries to actually TUNE to the stream but I am at a loss after two days.

Is anyone using this in Plex successfully??? I might have gotten it working while writing this question, but it seems like DISABLE hdhr, add the Tuner as \DaddyLive\ and set the DaddyLive as internalproxy might be the best solution, and mostly all the defaults so not sure how I broke it today.

Thanks for that. I'm currently just focused on DL. The epg and guide function fine from Plex and are loading via the DVR fine so that makes me thing my setup is fine. Actually viewing the channel is where it falls down. I've cleaned and restarted Cabernet with no issues and I can see content with VLC. It seems like everyone is using Jellyfin and not Plex though to actually consume this and wondering if I'm missing something obvious as a result.

I'm also running latest stable and only pulling in about 136 channels which is well under Plexs limit for the DVR.

Running Plex on Ubuntu. I have the standard 3 plugins enabled and have 976 channels listed in Plex (877 enabled). I do have some filtering in Cabernet, so not 100% are available, but that number is almost all the channels I have in Cabernet. Nothing really special except I did download the xmltv.xml file from Cabernet and then told Plex to ingest that instead of pulling directly. Guide and stream are all working in Plex.

I'll try again with a fresh install, I can hit the .xmltv from Plex so I'm not inclined to think it's a networking issue. Although I did have to change the IP in Cabernet but the hover text suggested that was the solution anyway.

Based on the other link, it was mentioned to disable the TV Guide instance but not the root plugin or did I misread that?

So reset everything.
Added PlutoTV first per the docs. Changed nothing other than adding that, was able to add and tune to a Pluto Channel in Plex.

Added DaddyLive and then TV Guide as required. Lots of restarts in between. Then able to see all the channels in Plex but unable to tune to anything now. Pluto included.

All info you gave is fine. You will be able to see all by turning on debug or info logging. Many times the issue is that plex is not talking to Cabernet. This will be obvious in the logs when no logging is happening. Check the channels.m3u file and see what the URL says in that file, then try to hit that from your plex VM. good luck.

Updated, first issue was a malformed docker-compose so I wasn't actually opening the streaming port. Fixed and now I can hit the channels from VLC on the network. Plex VM can currently stream Pluto but fails on DL channels however.

Plex also crashes (at least from the web interface) and from a standalone app I get "this live TV session has ended" when trying to tune to any DL channels. I've got a log with both flavors but not sure how useful it is, or at least what part to pull from it.

The channels.m3u file + VLC is a great debug combo for anyone else struggling.

Unfortunately, I keep having problems with PlutoTV SciFi, for example.
After the commercials, I only have sound and no picture - even when recording.
It doesn't matter whether I switch URL filtering on or off.
When URL filtering is switched off, I only have sound after the commercials.
Hat jemand eine Idee wie ich das in de Griff bekomme?

Sorry that your environment is causing you problems. I just ran a test with PlutoTV SciFi and after the filtered packets, the stream came back just fine with audio and video.
