tvheadend does not recognize TV (DVB-S2) adapter

Hello everyone,

I have a problem with my TV headend installation. No TV adapter is displayed, even though it is connected.

When I check this via the command line, I can see the adapter. Only TV Headend cannot see it.

I have TVHeadend running on Ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Try looking in dmesg to see if there are any error messages. Some hardware require additional firmware file.

I can't see any errors? What does that tell me? Do you have an idea?

I suggest that you enter "Montage Technology" tuner not working into your search engine of choice and look for any results that seem relevant. In particular, ensure that your copy of dvb-demod-m88ds3103.fw is the most recent.

DeltaMikeCharlie Thanks for the suggestion, but I've already tried that and didn't find anything. That's exactly why I'm asking here in the first place.

I also have the latest version of the software installed.

Any other suggestions?

Try
ps -Alf | grep tvheadend
and verify that your tvheadend is running as user 'hts'.
Make sure that the hts user is member of the 'video' group:
sudo usermod -a -G video hts
Reboot, then try again.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did as you said, but unfortunatlly the adapter still doesn't show. Here is what my commandline looks like.
