I played around with the manual adding, but i can't give the transponder ID. there is always 1006 and should be 1007. The transponder id is part of the "read only" fields...

If i change the frequency (1) it will be reflacted in the read only fields (2), but the transport stream ID (3) is not changeable.
Regarding the documentation from ORF the parameters should be:

The question for me is: how can it changed to reflect the needs...

Tom_LP Strange. According to https://en.kingofsat.net/pos-19.2E.php TSID 1007 is on ASTRA 1P at 11302.75H while TSID 1006 is on the same satellite at 11288V. Without a major fault in your tuner or your antenna positioning I can't see how these two services could be confused.

My current steps are: install on a more current version of ubuntu and hope that the problematic DVB-Cards from DVBSky will run in the new OS. Then i will try the scan again...
May be the tools underlying works better with the multistream feature (source: https://work-microwave.com/introduction-dvb-s2-multistream/ ) that is seams is in use by ORF.

Sorry - i'am confused now. Did you mean that the transponder are on fixed frequencies (not an expert 🙂 )?

no one of them writes the "correct" frequence?!? And can it be that all other (!) channels are working (free + encrypted) except the 3 Channels from one Provider? ORF Digital is relatively new on this transponder places... (since february 2025 as i know - until this point the SD-Channels are working, so i didn't see a need to change to the new channels... )
tbh: the Hardware is working with VDR for the last >12~15 Years and i had never an issue with the channels. I must change the decryption so i had to go with a "newer" solution. VDR is frozen at the level of 15 years ago and there are no newer working version (DVBAPI / SC /...) that i can use....
If i understand you correctly, there can only be a failure in my hardware setup? Could other things happen that the responder is wrong identified in the "read only fields" ?
I will check the cards and cables, but in general the worked around the clock in the last years.

AAAAHHHHHhhhhhhh.......
If i select "none" in the hide-selector of Services THEN i see one time the needed channel.

BUT i cant use it. The Parent is disabled. I can't figure out which one is the parent. I see the ID of the Parent:

but the Muxer for 11303H is enabled. I can't say that the enabled Muxer is the right one. The ID from the screenshot above is no where noted in the Muxer. No UUID at all to compare with the "read only Field" of the Service 🙁
And without the enabled Muxer i cant enable the one time founded Channel. On furture look ups i identified another differences. The encryption isn't identified correctly an the "Service Type flag" is noted with "1"... The CAID is empty and should be 0650..
I don't know when the channel is comes into place. In one of the Tests it comes, but was disabled. So i didn't recognise that is there... It was pure coincidence that I saw it now.
As you see in the screenshot. Other channels are listed 2-3-4 times. I thought all along that TVH was avoiding duplicate channels...

Tom_LP The "parent disabled" flag is confusing. Tvheadend needs to be able to 'see' the service on-air during a mux scan in order to record what type of video, audio etc it contains; without this the "parent disabled" flag is set. This is a problem for part-time and pop-up services.

Can you re-scan the mux at a time when you know that the service is on-air and transmitting programmes?

Those services have had "Type Override" set. I suspect if you remove the Type Override and re-scan the duplcates will disappear.

Yet another issue caused by disabling services because they aren't broadcasting at the time of scan.
Please, someone get rid of it, or at least make it an option that is disabled by default.

tbh: i don't see any advantage of the used model (Mux/Service/Bouquet/Channel). If it all works the usage may be convenient, but if the weather conditions going to a rainy ones => all channels are lost an i must wait until the sun is shining to have the "best" conditions for my software. Really? 😉
I admit, I come from a fairly simple platform regarding the channels (VDR). In comparison, it was definitely easier and better to control. If one of the channel have no good conditions, you get no picture at all. That should be the consequence and not the lose of all other channels in the same frequency...
Any way: the rest of TVH is really great and i don't want that my statemant to make the software look bad.
Honestly : its a really cool peace of software and i am thankful for all of the work from the developer.
On the other side: it must also be permissible to reconsider or criticize one or another decision. One of them is in my opinion the model of building functional (for a long time) channels...

My current state: i have both of my SAT-Servers (4 tuners each) on TVH (one with 4.2.8 and the other with the latest version) to compare the results and working in optimization of my setup.
One of the receivers have a bad signal so i disabled it for the scanning of muxes. ONE/TWO time i have the needed channels in place, but the can't be assigned to a channel. For what ever reason. The "Map Service" says always "ignored" but didn't tell me why. The scan of the Muxes is "OK", but in the Service it is only listed when i select "hide: none"... (i started 5-6 times from scratch because i thought i had the right settings.

Back to the "main" Problem: The Mux should have 26 channels, but only gets 23. In the next time i got the 26 channels i post a picture of the results and the logs. My be some on find the missing peace...

Mapping is much easier if you let TVH do it automatically using bouquets.
You can create a network bouquet (all services on the network), use the bouquets transmitted by providers, or use enigma2 bouquets.

This is how I configure it:
Enable “Create bouquet” and set “Network discovery” to “New muxes + changed muxes” on my networks.
In the bouquets tab, enable either a network, OTA, E2 or any combination of bouquets with the desired settings.
With these settings, whenever TVH does an EPG scan, it will automatically keep channels up-to-date.

The issue you are having with services being disabled is something that needs to change.
I have access to many satellites, and it's not uncommon to have services that are “active”, but not broadcasting for hours, days, or weeks at a time.

Having tinkered with this for much of today (and assuming I understand the code correctly), the issue is that the process of scanning a mux doesn't just compile a list of services, it analyses the component data streams for each service and stores that information in the service data file. Then when a service is required for recording or streaming the information needed to parse the data steam is already available. The disadvantage is that if a service has never been active at the time of scanning this information is not available and therefore the service cannot be used. The "parent disabled" drop-down is just a way to remove these unusable services from the UI.

There are a lot of issues on this forum caused by this behaviour.
Is there no way TVH could be modified to set these services as the lowest priority instead of disabling them?
This way, no known data is assumed to be the “worst” service available for streaming/recording.
In my case, and I'm sure it's the same for most users, I don't have multiple services linked to the same channel, so picking the lowest priority would be picking the only service available.

It wouldn't help. Unless a service is observed to have a valid video and/or audio stream during a mux scan it cannot be considered as a possible source.

The best I can suggest is to periodically force a scan - once a service has been seen to be valid a subsequent scan while it is off-air is ignored. This can be done using the http API, something like
curl http://user:pass@my.ip.address:9981/api/network/scan?uuid=<uuid-of-network>.

Sooo - i have a further step made: the missing channel is viewable now. The reason is very strange:
ORF send until Feb. 2025 on other Frequenz and turned them off. The new channels are at 11302.75H. But they didn't worked....
In my confusion (and after some good advice in this forum), i also began to check the cables. They seams all to be OK. In a short brake i realized that the most failed scan are in the Range of 11,3 GHz upwords and mostly Horizontal. I investigate further and checked the polarity of my Quad-LNB to the switch and changed two of them.

Voila: the missing channels are immediately OK.
The conclusion for me: If all run´s perfect, TVH does a well job. But in case of troubles, its very hard to debug the case.
For example: I got no informations from the mux which channels are OK. I mean in the single Frequence i saw that 3 channels are seen, but the scan is failed. Which are the 3?
Services: In the "read only" field there is a reference to the uuid of the mux, but in the mux there is nowhere this ID viewable.
My case: I created several Muxer with different parameters (but same frequency) to see if one of this parameter changed a behaviour at the time of scanning. It should be an attempt to exclude the time factor (different conditions) and repeatability of scenarios... So i hat more then one mux with this frequency and i can't say which one is the mux that brings up the channel correctly...
Any way - my lesson learned for Astra 19.2E :
Low Band : 10,7 - 11,7 GHz
High Band : 11,7 - 12,75 GHz
This Band´s had Horizontal & Vertical signals.

To test out which Band & Signal is wrong, i find a list of channels to check:
-) RTL, SAT1, PRO7, ZDF => High Band / Horizontal works
-) DMAX, Tele5, Sport1 => High Band / Vertical works
-) Eins Extra, Phoenix, Eins Festival, ARD HD => Low Band / Horizontal works
the person from where i copied this list means: the rest is Low Band / Vertical
The last statement i can't confirm, but the 3 above brought me to my solution....
I hope the list is still valid, as I have noticed that changes are very frequent. In my case it helps definitely...
My advice: check if the failed scan have some identical parameters. If so, may be you have the same "problem" as i had...
