Ahoy.
I am new to the world of DVR, RPi and DVB. I work for a radio station where we use DVB tuners to receive terrestrial TV for our newsroom. We use quite a lot of these for various news sources. We've had loads of issues with our existing DVB tuners, and a large part of this is to do with our RF system throughout our building.
Long term we need to redesign or replace the RF system. That is not a project we can undertake at the moment.
SO I looked at LibreELEC running Kodi with a PVR client (TVHeadEnd) running on a Pi5 with a DVB tuner. I have this working. Sounds great right? No.
Because our RF system is plagued with issues, the RF attenuation across the system drops significanlty causing ALL of our DVB tuners and TV's to drop signal.
This caused the DVB to drop reception. On our existing DVB tuners they generally recover, sometimes not. Our TV's have a high sucsess rate of recover. Our Pi running Kodi? Nope. Drops out and will only recover after a reboot.
Your thoughts and direction is greatly apprecaited.
