I'm excited to announce that TVHplayer is now available on Flathub
Now you can easily install the app on any linux distribution.

There are some bug fixes that make the app work reliably with Wayland and improve scheduling recordings.

Feel free to try the app and share your thoughts.

If you don't use linux, builds for Windows and MacOS are available from the project website.

Thanks! I installed TVHeadend Player from the Discover store in Desktop mode on my Steam Deck - very easy, worked great.

First time setting up I forgot to add the default port for tvheadend. I was surprised I had to add that to the URL myself by adding :9981 at the end, as well as having to type http:// at the front of the URL. Would a pair of inputs for [Server address] [Server port] be easier?

It's easy to use as a desktop app. I found that I could control some stuff with the keyboard (context menu key, arrows, page-up/down, F, Ctrl-Q), but needed the mouse trackpads for interacting with the player screen, and needed to exit full screen to change anything.

No "pause live" option?

Because I couldn't see an easy way to map controller buttons for all of the functions I'll stick to Kodi + TVHeadend plug-in for the game mode, although it's a bit more confusing to set up (if you don't know how Kodi works already).

I've installed on Windows from the installer on your website - this is a very convenient desktop app to use, thanks again 🙂

Spinlock Thanks for your feedback. What are your most used functions you need a keyboard shortcut for?

Mehdi Maybe Show/Hide the channel list, and Ctrl-S to enter the search box in the channel list?

And if I hit "Enter" while the channel list has focus then I'd expect to switch to and start playing the selected channel, but it doesn't.

Finally the play and record controls, including Space to toggle play/pause. (I know there is not currently a pause option in TVHplayer)

And if I hit "Enter" while the channel list has focus then I'd expect to switch to and start playing the selected channel, but it doesn't.

To support that I guess I'd also ask for keyboard shortcut to put focus on the channel list with the current channel selected.

What should that do if the channel list is hidden? 🤔 Temporarily revealing it would be nice
