I apologize in advance if someone had already answered this question but I am trying to get some streaming Radio Stations added to TVHeadEnd so they will show up under the "Radio" menu of the Kodi main screen.
I have pretty much mastered the way to add Live TV streams, I put the URLs into an m3u file (very particular formatting) under Network, it then scans the list and if there are any viable video streams it makes the mux for them which applies to Services which I can then link to a channel. I take great pride in having all of the icons and EPG information so it looks really nice.
But when I put the audio version of the m3u file it usually just doesn't find any viable streams, both the file and the stations work when they are used with VLC.
I realize that streaming audio and video are different. To be honest for a short time I was working with TV Stations that just broadcasted radio, I would have liked to put them under Radio but I don't get them anymore.
I have often seen the suggestion to use the pipe:/// both pick up the URL and route it to the "Radio".
The instructions here: https://tvheadend.org/d/4278-fm-radio-using-rtl2832u-r820t-usb state that if I used a dongle that is specific to FM radio I can't route it directly to TVHeadEnd but I can use a local URL to pipe it through using a mux, but I have never gotten a stream working that way.
Can anyone out there please help me with some 'dummy' instructions from scratch? I am always looking to learn something new about Kodi.
Thanks!
