Recordings fail with message "directory is not accessible"

I have successfully installed TVHeadend on my Fedora40 box using Snapd. The initial configuration was successful and I am able to see all the programs available. Because I did not want recordings to go to the system disk (only maximum of 256Gb of storage available), I set up a symbolic link to a subdirectory on my main data disk (2Tb max). However, when I set a program to record, the recording fails with the message "[ ERROR]:dvr: the directory '/export/tvheadend/' is not accessible". The target folder is set at 777 (full read/write access).

What do I need to do to correct this issue?

The only place that "/export/recordings" appears seems to be in the README.Docker.md page in the advanced configuration section (Troubleshooting / Compose). I know nothing at all about Docker, so all I can suggest is reading that page and seeing if you can work out what needs to be changed.

Instead of a symbolic link, you can go into your default DVR profile and specify a storage location.

Configuration -> Recording -> Digital Video Recorder Profiles.
(Default Profile) -> Storage path

Tried that. This morning, the attempted recording resulted in a message "File Missing" in the TVH report. The output log shows the same error as previously reported:

There must be something else that needs changing.

DaveH As I do not have Docker installed, I cannot see any relevance of Docker to the issue with TVHeadend.

Chris Jones is there a particular reason why you installed an unofficial version of TVH. You may or may not be aware that the Snap version of TVH is unofficial. Have you tried looking for support from the TVH Snap maintainer. diddlesnaps/tvheadend

I have removed the snap version and am in the process of reinstalling the Fedora version, but am having difficulty in configuring the installation. When trying to load the web interface, I keep getting a 403 error.

It would be helpful if TVHeadend were to put some help documentation on this website to enable new users to configure their installations/reinstallations effectively, without needless removal/reinstallation being necessary.

My issue is that within my Fedora40 box, I still get 403 error when attempting to log in, yet when I login to my Windows11 laptop, I am able to login and complete the initial configuration.

I have now removed and reinstalled TVHeadend and successfully configured to store videos on my chosen disk.

Thank you for your assistance. I do still think that the documentation could be improved to help with initial installation configuration issues.
