After my playing with EIT, ([https://tvheadend.org/d/8712-utc-vs-eit-as-network-time]), I encountered problems with EPG for some services. I found [(https://tvheadend.org/d/8078-utc-problem)], and did as described there: stop tvheadend, removed epgdb.v3, restarted tvheadend. Now, AFAICS, EPG works once again. However, there is no more any file epgdb.v3. I also wouldn't know how to "rescan epg". Isn't that done on a regular base automatically?
While there seems to be no problem, I'd still be grateful for some insight on the intended workings. What does the epgdb deliver additionally to the seemingly functional EPG without it?
Where would I find the command for a manual rescan of the EPG content?
