Hello,
I am seeing dublicates for epg internal modules
It reads normally from /usr/bin and from /bin which is a symlink of /usr/bin.
Why is that happening? Is something in my installation that i must fix, or it normal behaviour?

I have now added in tvheadend.service file the line
Environment="PATH=/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:"
And now works as expected for me,
But is this the correct solution?
This is how now looks the service file!

Looks like the PATH variable in your system is wrong. It should not contain duplicates (like symlinks).

It is the Ubuntu defaults
Default PATH Variable
The PATH environment variable is crucial as it tells the shell where to look for executable files. By default, the PATH variable in Ubuntu includes the following directories:/usr/local/sbin/usr/local/bin/usr/sbin/usr/bin/sbin/bin/usr/games/usr/local/games/snap/bin (if you have snap installed)
Anyway,this is not problem of tvheadend, it is the grabber script that looks by default in PATH.

Do they really have symlinked one directory to another and still added both to PATH? Seems a little weird to me.

john i I know that, but there is no reason to have both in PATH. I know that at some point when upgrading there's a migration going on, I'm just wondering if on a clean install really both are added to PATH.

Seems like a question to ask on an Ubuntu forum or list, rather than here. In an ideal world I suppose the grabber would realize that it has already listed items rather than duplicating the list, and in the same ideal world $PATH would have been adjusted so it didn't find duplicates, but hey ho.

DaveH I have searched already ubuntu forums and chatGPD and all saying the same, PATH is set as mine. Because i don't like to hack the defaults, i fixed the issue by adding the PATH in tvheadend.service file.
I asked here to see what other users do for that not important issue, and if I'm correct, maybe the developers want to put that Environment PATH line as an option to set things right for others that maybe having the same situation.

I didn't say search, I said ask! But apart from that it's an Ubuntu issue, not a TVH issue, AFAICT. So there's nothing for anybody here to do, even if there was the manpower.

DaveH If you do echo $PATH on your system what is the output?
I checked on another fresh installation ubuntu and on a raspberry pi , both including /bin and /sbin in path.
