CORS error

I'm using tvheadend version 4.3-2229 on Ubuntu 22.04.3. When I attempt to save the "CORS origin" setting through the web interface under Configuration -> General -> Base -> HTTP Server Settings, it doesn't get saved. Is this a known issue? Is there a way to directly save the settings in the configuration file?

I think that you may have discovered an undocumented feature. 🙂

I just looked into the source code and found the config location. I added this setting to the config file manually and it was not recognised.

More investigation is required, but it would appear that this setting is not being saved correctly.

When I manually view the config settings via the browser, I can see that the setting is present, the content is simply empty.

@LouisCullen - What value are you using?

This would not appear to be a bug. The feature is working as intended. Before the value is saved, it is tested to see if it has a valid 'http' or 'https' prefix. Only valid values are then saved.

I tried with "ABC" and the value was not saved. I tried again with "http://this.is.a.test" and the value was saved.

Thanks @DeltaMikeCharlie, this saved me a massive headache!

I think this is badly documented (I'm on 4.3-2323~g73a6bd00d) because the hover text says

Enter a domain (or IP) to allow cross-domain requests

And makes no mention of the http[s]:// prefix. I opened a bug (tvheadend/tvheadendissues/1700) to ask if at least the documentation could be fixed, and perhaps an error message shown, although I'm not sure if this is supported.
