Scanning stops loading/scanning

Hi, When scanning TV stations, the scanning stops refreshing/loading/scanning in the browser and does not move - at 75% Any ideas? Thanks, Lee

It seems pretty clear your antenna is NOT pointing at Hannington, so I'd suggest forgetting that transmitter. Also as Jonas said, the list of frequencies you've been using is out of date.

It might be worth noting what channels your TV picks up at the two sockets, and what the differences are. How are the sockets fed? Passive splitter or active distribution amplifier?

Yeahh, for me it also stops scanning, always @ exactly 53%, with windtv solohd si2168.
optiplex 3000 tc, lubuntu 24.04.4 LTS (Noble Numbat), tvheadend latest + correct dvb firmware.

do i put the usb cable with tuner into my very old minix neo u1 @ coreelec 9.0.1, all is perfect again as it is for many many years.

so, how do i get the rest 47%?

I manually installed the "new" dvb-c transponder file called "Germany: de-NRW-Vodafone".
With this it stops @ 53%

When i then use the "Germany: de-Unitymedia" delivered with tvh it runs up to 89%.

It just doesnt work.

Similar problems i had under latest libreelec with dvb-s stick and a wetek play 2 and tvh 4.3.

Old 4.2 works perfect. 🙁

The only way to run tvh 4.3 latest on lubuntu is to "empty" the "var/lib/tvheadend" folder (except the superuser kindergarten security file) and copy all data from my super old coreelec 9.0.1 "storage.kodi\userdata\addon_data\service.tvheadend42" folder to the brandnew "var/lib/tvheadend".
Then i can use 4.3 and it runs perfect without any raising "error countings".

So, what must i do to get tvheadend latest, super brand new, best coded, 4.3 version to scan absolutely all channels.
And to ignore the stuff that happens to stop @ 53% and just continue scanning?

Or even better, how can i scan the complete dvb-c frequency range from 0-1000mhz with tvheadend?

For me, in this state its not possible to scan all channels with tvh 4.3 on lubuntu and i need the help of an old coreelec 9.0.1 tv box, to create a working tvheadend config! 🙁

I have best dvb-c and dvb-s signals with my equipment!

You can't do that with TVH, but there is an external utility called w_scan that you could try.

Once you have the new scan file, you could use that during setup instead of one of the pre-loaded ones.

Perhaps a comparison between your v4.2 configuration files and your non-functional v4.3 configuration files could reveal the source of the issue.

so there is no "source of issue" 😛

also why does tvheadend make so much useless time wasting security/permission shit?
atm im not able to record to a folder because your crap tool only show 0/0/0

whats going on in theese coder brains to create linux app which works good and easy on coreelec but totally crappy unusable for "Normal" people on lubuntu?

are you paid by some dvb company for this to prevent "Normal" people from using it?

You are blaming the Tvheadend version but ignoring the rather different drivers (and likely firmware) running on different hardware. DVB configurations are frequently fickle and how things behave ultimately depends on the entire software stack and not solely the Tvheadend software. I'm not particularly surprised if there's a difference between the Amlogic vendor kernel on a CE box (truly awful driver code, but hacked over time towards media use-cases) and a Lubuntu (general purpose distro) setup. It's not an Apples vs. Apples comparison.

NB: It might make you feel better to offload in forum posts, but pithy comments aren't going to rally any of the all-volunteer staff and other users to your cause. If you want help; focus on providing technical information and not the whinging. If you don't want help then you're in the wrong forum.

AGAIN!

to have a working tvh 4.3 i have to use the complete folder of a 4.2 installation.
Then i can tune every channel and watch every channel without any fckng problem in 4.3.

So there is no problem on MY SIDE!!!

When i then delete everything in "Userdata\addon_data\service.tvheadend43" and try to make a new config from scratch 4.3 JUST STOPS SCANNING!

HOW ABOUT AN ANTI-STOP MECHANISM.
IF stop THEN force resume at next frequency till transpoder list is fully scanned!

And why arent we allowed to use the WORKING 4.2 version with latest libreelec?

In my opinion this is a well known bug and since the coders arent very intelligent they just want to disguise it 🙁

because the last update was in 2018 and it is no longer supported by the Tvheadend project

To make it short:
THIS WORKS AND I GET ALL 426 SERVICES (since vodafone germany channel re-order some weeks ago):
LibreELEC-Generic-legacy.x86_64-12.0.2.img.gz service.tvheadend42-12.0.0.2.zip

THIS DOESNT WORK (Scan starts but stops and also the drivers seems to stop. All 0 0 0 0 in status, and also no "Force Scan", etc could make it come back, only a libreelec reboot):
LibreELEC-Generic-legacy.x86_64-13.0-nightly-20260516-7374d38.img.gz service.tvheadend43-12.80.7.2.zip

Both Libreelecs have 100% the same settings.
So, what do i make wrong?
Please tell me!

I suggest trying the same version of TVH with each version of LibreELEC. Or try each version of TVH with the SAME version of LibreELEC. Changing both at the same time means nobody can tell anything about what is going on.
