Hi - I've been using TVHeadEnd with a DVBS2 tuner for some time but I've always experienced problems configuring Freesat. Recently, I had to rebuild my setup. As you point out the Wizard is simply not able to deal with the scenario of just wanting a simple basic bouquet from a satellite and it tries to grab everything rather than a single bouquet.

Seems something the wizard could be adjusted for, but would not be confident to ask, however, with the guide it might have taken a few more minutes, but have a prefectly crafted freesat HD channels list for my region.

That can all be achieved using the Wizard configuration tool in TVH.

Hi. Thanks for your response. I did try to use the standard Wizard tool but found that it detected many more channels than the standard Freesat lineup. I may have been doing something wrong but I don't think so. The process linked above is lengthy but produces a good result with the complete Freesat channel line up.

Martin Davies by the way my response to your earlier post was not dismissive. I was pointing out what is already in place in TVH to achieve the required result. There is no need to use predefined mux tables when using the TVH Configuration Wizard. You only need enter one known working Freesat mux, select a network search and TVH will find the remaining Freesat muxes.

The underlying problem with some people using TVH is they don’t bother familiarising themselves with application and expect others to do all the heavy lifting for them.

You would probably be better off mapping a Sky bouquet instead.
Just disable mapping encrypted services if you don't have the means to descramble them.
The Sky bouquets contain the Freesat channels and a few more.
Even better yet, map the entire sat... even more free channels (but a lot of duplicates).
