John Wilson So is there a way of using the OTA listing information for some channels and Schedules Direct for other?
What you describe should be possible. I have done something similar, except that in my case, my XMLTV feed supplies 90% of my channels and I need to supplement the other 10% from OTA.
It may help to think of the EPG sources as being too eager to please and you need to try to prevent some of this. Every EPG source will try to automatically match to a channel. When multiple active EPG sources try to match to the same channel, you can get overlapping or disappearing EPG entries and other strange things.
If you have not already set your 'Default view level' to 'Expert' in 'Config/General/Base', do that before beginning.
For the XMLTV EPG source, the 'Grabber Channels' control what EPG source goes to which channel.
For the channels that you want to use OTA EPG, go into 'Config\Channel / EPG\EPG Grabber Channels' and remove the required channel from the 'Channels' list from each of the 'Grabber Channel' objects connected to an OTA EPG channel.
Getting the OTA EPG can be fiddly, depending on if you require the EPG for a whole mux, or for just certain channels on that mux.
1) If you want OTA EPG for a whole mux, go into 'Config/DVB Inputs/Muxes', identify the mux that you want and then enable the 'EPG scan' and select the appropriate 'EPG Module ID'.
2) If you only want to use OTA EPG for selected channels on a mux, you need to go into 'Config/DVB Inputs/Services'. For each service that you want to keep the XMLTV EPG, you need to select 'Ignore EPG (EIT)'. Once you have done that, do the step above to enable the whole mux.
Depending on where you started from, for EPG will probably be a bit of a mess and could take a week or so to sort itself out. To force a full reset, stop TVH, delete (or rename) your epgdb.v3 file, restart TVH and rerun the EPG grabbers.
Best of luck. Please report back on your progress and any tweaks that you needed to make.
