post processor command doesn't like bash

I have a running TVH on 4.3.2100 on Pi4 and it works well. I decided to try TVH on trixie (Fresh install) Pi4 everything works well except. On adding a bash script into the post processor command, I can see it spawn but nothing happens, no errors, no output (I even tried a simple script with printf and logger, but again, no output) if I try prefixing the command with /bin/bash I get permission denied. These programs work on TVH bookworm.

If I use normal commands, like ping or python -V then I see some output. The programs work perfectly under the user pi

Any ideas on what is causing this and if there is a fix (I don't fancy rewriting the script in python)

Iri Dium Tvheadend runs as user 'hts', so the permission issue may be because hts has no rights to a script owned by pi.

On my system (4.3.2637) I have a post-recording bash script in /usr/local/bin/ which is executable by user hts and that works.

I agree it's certainly a permission issue but cannot deduce what is causing the problem. The script is owned by pi with 755. I even logged on as hts (by modifying /etc/passwd) and ran the script Ok. I'm wondering if it something to do with the change of home directory from /home/hts to /var/lib/tvheadend. This is a fresh install of trixie and tvheadend, so I wouldn't have expected any issues.

I wonder if I just add group pi to hts might help, but could cause other issues.

Iri Dium I tried on a test box (RPi 4 running Arch Linux ARM) and it works as expected.

In the "DVR Profile" screen of the new GUI I added "/usr/local/test.sh" to the "Pre-processor command" setting. My script file is owned by root and has permissions 755. It contains:

#!/bin/sh
echo "OK!" > /var/lib/tvheadend/test.out

Yes that script works for me also, but it's #!/bin/sh not #!/bin/bash.
My original "test" script was changed from #!/bin/bash to #!/bin/sh and it worked. So it's something to do with bash.
My original bash script won't run if I change it to #!/bin/sh

Interestingly if I prefix the command with bash Test.sh (Shebang of #!/bin/bash) it works! So even my original script now works.

So instead of "/usr/local/bin/Test.sh", with doesn't work, I use "bash /usr/local/bin/Test.sh" which does work.

Might reinstall at the W/E as something is not right - maybe something went amiss during the install.
