That's a good idea, but it may be difficult to provide a dropdown list because 'category' is free-form.

The data exists, so a simple text filter at least should definitely be possible. Maybe a dropdown could be populated by locally (in the browser) accumulating all of the unique categories from all of the EPG entries currently cached by the browser.
