regexp end-of-line?

I want to record "Something" but not "Something else", so I add a timer with title regexp "^Something$", but it nevertheless records "Something else". What's wrong?

I tested your regex here: https://regex101.com/
Every 'flavour' returned the results you desire.
Are there any special characters *., etc, that may be interpreted as a wildcard, involved in your actual regex?
The website linked to above also provides an explanation as to how a match was made, or not.

and for completeness, where did the TVH binary come from? i.e. where was it compiled, and with which regex library?

No regex-characters in the pattern. Only letters.
I still have "Something else" in the list.

If I change the pattern, will programmed recordings matching the former pattern stay in the list?
