Can't log into the web gui after updating

Hello,
When I try to access the Web GUI since updating tvheadend, I get "401 Unauthorized" or "403 Forbidden" errors. My password has not changed. I've tried logging out then back again. I've deleted the passwords in tvheadend/passwd to attempt passwordless login (I may have went too far here). It did not help.

How can I restore access, please ?

I could login with the superuser and recreate the passwords. Logging in with the old users gives a 403 error. Is there anything to do to enable the GUI for the old users ?
