Hello everyone,
I have a project that might be a bit unusual.
I have several Formuler Z10 Neo devices running the MyTVOnline 2 app. These devices receive their channels via multicast streams from a Polytron headend. Unfortunately, the app is unable to extract the EIT data from the stream and display it as an EPG.
I would now like to use TVHeadend to extract the EPG data from these streams and provide it as an XML URL.
Based on my initial research, TVHeadend should be capable of processing the streams coming from the headend, right?
I have certainly seen EPG data provided as an XML URL before (I’ve been using TVHeadend at home with Kodi for years).
Is it possible to set this up so that TVHeadend scans through the streams every X hours to pull the EPG data?
Surely this shouldn't require a great deal of processing power? A Synology NAS should be sufficient for this task, shouldn't it?

As for the first question: TVH can receive IPTV services. See if the following discussion on the topic is helpful.

Hey,

I saw those two posts beforehand, which is why I wrote my own post. Theoretically, then, it should be possible exactly as planned. The XML output component has already been implemented, and—after some manual adjustments—the M3U playlist now matches the Channel IDs in TVheadend.

I’m expecting to receive the headend unit for testing sometime in the next few days to verify the input.

just wanted to give a quick update. It's working exactly as planned. Thanks for the help. Which EPG grabber is the multicast stream running through? From what I can see, are both of them running cyclically?
