403 Forbidden logging into Tvheadend

Hello,
I have a relatively new install and overnight lost my ability to login to TVHeadend. I went into the config passwd files and see the correct password base64 encoded, I also tried (on the advice of an old post here) purging my install and reinstalling and that didn't work either. Any ideas?

Two random thoughts:
a) Start the tvheadend binary with the --noacl option?
b) After clearing everything if prompts to enter a credential, hit cancel instead of trying to enter something (which won't work as everything is cleared) and it should drop back to the start wizard.

chewitt I should have mentioned that I'm using the Debian package. So if I start the process manually it works, but that doesn't help me much for fixing the issue with the SystemD spawned process.

I don't see anything obvious there, at a quick glance. So what happens when you try to login? Again log extracts would be helpful but I'm not sure where you'd find them.

It may be worth a try, but since it works when TVH is started manually, I din't think it likely to make much difference. (It's sad that things have got so bad that which browser is even an issue again 🙁 )

Can you update the systemd file that starts tvheadend with " --noacl" added? After you restart you should be able to access and update users and passwords. After you update, you can go back and remove noaccl. Restart again for a clean start.

That was the issue. I switched from Firefox to Microsoft Edge and logging in fine. 🤷

Maybe some problem with cookies, etc.

Ora: Try the above but then exit your browser session and start a new session. I find I sometimes mistype, get a 403, then when I try to correct it and know I'm right the session still errors. Retrying in a new tab (don't have to restart Firefox, just a new tab) works for me.
