Hi Tvheadend fans,
Due to the fact that a Kodi update for Ubuntu users is only possible with a switch to Flatpak, which for me would mean losing the PVR Recording & Power Manager add-on, I am planning to switch from Ubuntu 22.04. to Debian 13.2.
My plan is to leave /home unchanged during the installation of Debian, i.e., to only mount the partition and not format it, so that I don't have to set everything up again because the Tvheadend settings in /home will remain intact. That's the theory, at least... I hope I'm not being too naive 😉.
As a precaution, I want to back up not only the media, but also all Tvheadend configuration/settings (including satellite tuner settings and channel list).
Before I get started, I wanted to double-check with you whether it is sufficient if I back up the entire contents of
/home/htpc/.config/hts
and that's it?
In my case, htpc is the user name. I usually do this with Nautilus, as I'm a bit "lazy" with the terminal 😉
My idea is that if all else fails and I have to completely reinstall Tvheadend, I will copy the folder content back into the Debian environment after reinstalling Kodi and Tvheadend, and that should be it.
Or should I backup further directories?
Pity, that TvHeadend does not provide such a feature "out of the box".
looking forward to your opinion/advices...
