U install a fresh tvh till you get to the point where all services are listed.
Then u select "importchannels" and select a previously exported "importfile".
The "importfile" only contains "channel number" and "channelname".
Then tvh compares "channelname" with the existing services, and if "channelname" has a 100% match found, then it adds it with the "channelnumber" from the "importfile" to "channels".

What should happen if there are multiple channels with the name name?

1) Skip that channel.
2) Use the first match found.
3) Analyse the ONID/TSID/SID of the connected services and try to match those.

What format should the export/import file be? Perhaps CSV or TSV so that it can also be manually edited by a spreadsheet if the user chooses.

This does not have to be built into TVH, it could be an external tool written in Python, Pearl, etc.
