Today, i found the same *.sm files for all my Records since 19.07.2025, named the same as the Recorded file.
I did a little Research and found out that:
on 17.07.2025 Scene Markers got added to recordings at scheduled EPG event start/stop times.

it is by default enabled @ Configuration > Recording > Digital Video Recorder Profiles > Default Profile > Create scene markers: marked
Those *.sm Files contain Timestamps based on EPG Entry for the Recorded File that can be used for e.g. editing Recorded files afterwards
It s is save to disable it under Configuration > Recording > Digital Video Recorder Profiles > Default Profile > Create scene markers and in case you dont need those *.sm files it is save to remove them manually without hurting your Records
I did disabled it to create such files because i dont need them and moved the *.sm Files to another location, for saftey reasons and it didnt hurts any of the affected Records. So deleting them finally should be okay. I hope that helps 😉
