I had in the past two VDR-Server with 4 DVB-S cards each. One Server is the "production" and the second to play around with new versions, without an impact to the WAF ๐
Adverse circumstances forced me to find a new solution for Videosharing in my Home. I found TVHeadEnd that make Things different then VDR but not so bad ๐
The most opaque part for now is: the exact sharing of the channel-list. As i understand, the channels have Parents (services) and they have Parents too (mux). <- please correct me if i am wrong...
How can i share the channels between the two instances to have the exact same ordering and same IDยดs for recording (i think that will be important in the future of my usage). There comes up the next question about recording: In the past i moved a recording to the other server that has not so much load as the first one....
The same with the transcoding of the recording. The job is done by the second server when no recordings are in place (for the next xx minutes)
Would this possible in TVHeadEnd too ?
In summery:
1) identical channel lists between two (or more) server
2) move recording jobs to a other instance
3) transcode the recordings depending on rules
