Scan Fail

Hi I am trying to setup for the first time. I have setup the docker container and passed the USB tuner through to the container.

I followed the setup wizard which seems to have done everything I've read about doing, but when it came to scanning it found 7 muxes but 0 services. If I try to force a scan the scan result shows as "FAIL"

Stuart A couple of questions:

Where are you located and what is the name of your local TV transmitter? The scan tables distributed with Tvheadend are badly out of date and you may simply be trying the wrong frequencies.

What make and model of USB tuner are you using? RTL2832 is a generic radio receiver chip.

I'm located just outside of Belfast in Northern Ireland so I connect to Divis transmitter. I think upon looking at the details here (https://ukfree.tv/transmitters/tv/Divis) the frequencies look to be fine?

I'm using the Astrometa DVB-T2.

I've tested the antenna it's connected to and it works directly plugged into a TV and picks up channels without issue.

Stuart Thanks. So you've got the "2018 revision" of this device. It seems that the tuner is working (hence the dvb5-scan results) but not the Sony CXD2837ER decoder.

This shows what you should be seeing; you then attach the network to the "Sony CXD2837ER DVB-T/T2/C demodulator#0 : DVB-T #1" adaptor. Unfortunately although that thread matches your problem there is no clear solution posted.

I don't know anything about Docker. Is it possible that the CXD2837ER device hasn't been passed through to Tvheadend?

davep Ok so not sure what was wrong, a reboot of the machine and it seems to have appeared. I have now got this

Stuart Searching for "Astrometa DVB-T2" brings up lots of links to people having problems getting this working, but you seem to be doing all the right things. I've seen mention that a complete cold start is sometimes needed to clear errors, which may be why your Sony tuner has suddenly started working.

Sorry I'm stumped.

before i also used docker to run tvheadend with this astrometa usb, set up scan with Sony CXD2837ER DVB-T/T2/C demodulator in docker environment often error, sometimes works sometimes doesn't. Then i installed tvheadend with Ubuntu, no longer run tvheadend in docker environment then it is more stable, you can try

daonguyen minhnhat I briefly got it working outside of docker, but now I can't get the sony demodulators to show up again, I've tried literally everything in every order and still no luck.. Really confused as to why this is the case when it was working the other day when I tried...
