Kathrein EXIP418 not showing in TV adapters

I've just set up TVHE on a Linux Ubuntu server:

HTS Tvheadend 4.3.0~pre+202411122349-0~built202411130403~git653bd0400~ubuntu24.04.1

I'm trying to use my Kathrein EXIP418 SATIP tuner as the source. This is already set up and running on my network but nothing shows up in the TVHeadend DVB Input/TV Adapters folder.

The Ubuntu server running TVHE and the Kathrein are both plugged into the same network switch and both have reserved IPs allocated by my router. If I SSH into the Ubuntu server I can ping the Kathrein successfully.

Should the Kathrein be discovered automatically by TVHE or do I need to do something to get it discovered either in TVHE or the Kathrein's settings?

I couldn't see anything obviously wrong in my settings above and

satip_server yes
satip_client yes

seem to be as they should.

I've just tried rebooting the Kathrein in case that helped TVHE find it but still nothing appears under TV Adaptors.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated as I'm totally stuck if it can't see the Kathrein.

Are they both in same network?
Do you use some fancy firewall with cannot identify local traffic

Same Network (plugged into same network switch) can successfully ping Kathrein from TVHE Server via SSH.

No fancy firewall.

OK, I just googled installing TVHE on Ubuntu and followed whatever I found to be honest. As it all worked OK I presumed that it was "official" but have no idea really what "official" or "non-official" really means.

I find Linux deeply confusing at the best of times and was just happy something worked.

But, do you think that my issue could relate to the version? Shouldn't they all work?

I read your post regarding installing the "official" version and my head exploded!!!!

So I put the contents of my exploded head back in and then did my best to follow instructions and after a lot of effort now have a working official version (4.3-2375~g653bd0400 (2024-11-29T13:28:34+0000)

And now my Kathrein shows up fine in TV adapters so thanks very much!

My TVHeadend server also did not find the EXIP 418. There is a way to run TVH with parameter "--satip_xml http://192.168.178.xx/rootDescr". With Parameter it works. But...
There is a batch "/etc/init.d/tvheadend"
This uses a config file "/etc/default/tvheadend"
Changing this, restart service or reboot did not help.
I changed "/etc/systemd/system/tvheadend.service"
Could anyone tell me what i did wron?
