What is the EPG running state?

Hey, as the title says I'm interested what the "EPG running state" is. And what changes if I enable/disable it?

When you're watching a live TV channel you can usually see (by pressing a remote-control button) the titles of the programme playing 'now' and the programme to play 'next'. This information is broadcast by the channel every second. It is possible to set up Tvheadend to use this information to start/stop recordings only when the wanted programme is on 'now'. In theory this allows Tvheadend to correctly record the programme even if the start is late or the end overruns. In practice few channels maintain the now/next data accurately so it is usually best to leave it disabled.

I agree. In Australia, a programme can start late or run long by 10 or even 15 minutes and the now/next still shows the scheduled time, not the actual time. Pre/Post padding for recordings is a more reliable solution.
