I use a Synology DS1817+ with DSM 7.2.2-72806 on which the TVHeadend server (4.3.20240928-39) is running, among other things.
TV streams come via Sat>IP from the Sat>IP receiver to the TVHeadend server (package from the Syno community - no Docker container or anything like that) and playback is forwarded via the TVHeadend client (Kodi addon on FireTV Cube).
This has been working for years without any problems, but now I have created a problem for myself by setting up the DSM VPN client on the Sysnology to use NordVPN for outgoing connections from the Syno.
This works so far - but the connection between the TVHeadend server and the Sat>IP receiver only works if the VPN server is only started after the TVHeadend server after a restart of the Synology. If both are active when the Syno is shut down, the VPN is always started first and then the TVHeadend server is started by the DS. As a result, the TVHeadend server does not get a connection to the Sat>IP receiver. To be precise, if TVHeadend is not started first, it cannot find the TV adapters.
To be honest, I have no idea about VPN stuff and don't know how to solve the problem.
The TVHeadend server does not need (and in my opinion does not have) a connection from my home network - which makes this even more puzzling for me.
Does anyone here have a solution for me - e.g. a tip on how I can generally prevent the TVHeadend server from using the VPN?
I regret that I asked the same question in a Synology forum 2 weeks ago, but unfortunately I can't get an answer to this question there.
