Limit Tuner with CI to max 1 Channel per Mux

Dear Forum

I'm just wondering if there is a setting in TvHeadend to serve only 1 channel per transponder.

Point is that my Cam Module is only capeable of decoding 1 Channel, so if I want to view or record a second decoded channels on the same transponder I get the Error saying "Channel decoded".

I use a total of 4 Tuners, 2 of them with CI so it would be easy to simply switch to the tuner with the 2nd CI, instead of using the the tuner with the allready in use, and therefor allready blocked CI.

Ideas welcome :-)

I had a look and I could not see one.

Perhaps you could create multiple copies of the mux/transponder in question. When you tune services on each mux, only keep one unique service per mux until you have the total number of services that you started with.

I'm not sure if TVH is smart enough to detect duplicated mux parameters on a network. If it is, then you may need to create multiple networks instead of multiple muxes.

For the sake of information and if anyone else is runnig into the same type of challenge.

I went forward with setting up multiple Networks containing only the scrambles muxes in question.
Mapped channels, in the way that every single scrambled Service - running on the same transponder - gets served from a different Network.

Problem solved - Works as expected :-)
Scrambled channels on the same transponder are now searching for its own Tuner and therefor own CAM :-)

Didn't go for your first solution using cloned muxes,
Probably will look into that, but for the moment, the solution with multiple Networks works totaly fine.

Played arround with cloning muxes instead of cloning networks yesterday.
Same behaviour using muxes or network -- so both solutions are working.

Finally stayed with the multple Networks Solution..
Brings the benefit that you can map the networks containing the scrambled muxes to the tuners holding the cams.
So in my case (4 Tuners in total - 2 Tuners with cam) the scrambled channels are bound only to the Tuners with cam functionality which leads to faster channel switching time :-)

Depending on the card, you might be able to plug it directly into a PC card reader and use OSCam, bypassing any CAM limitations.
