I would like to know if anyone outside of Auckland is currently able to receive the full 7 day EPG using the free-to-air DVB-T EIT without using external tools.
If you are able, please describe what settings you have used to achieve this. There has been a lot of discussion of this subject over the years and I am unaware of any definitive solution. If a solution has been found, I would like to document it for future users.
To the best of my knowledge, as at February 2024, 7 day EPG was not working without the use of external tools.
Assuming that 7 day EPG is still not working, I am looking for Kiwi volunteers living outside of Auckland to perform a ‘mux dump’ to obtain some sample data for further analysis and testing.
I will provide detailed instructions to anyone who is interested, but in short, a mux dump is a special type of recording using VLC that captures an entire network, not just a single channel.
