Help with watching a specific IPTV channel on VLC

I have IPTV from a friend who owns Tvheadend. To watch the TV channels, I use Kodi where I am authenticated with a username and password. From the entire channel lineup, I want to watch just one channel using VLC Media Player in the form: http://ip-server:9981/channel-name.m3u8. The Tvheadend server owner says it is not possible, or maybe he doesn't want to give me that link. Is there any solution to obtain that link, please? Thank you.

It is enough if the Tvheadend administrator sends you an entry for just one TV channel from a file obtained by entering it in the web browser.

Unfortunately, the Tvheadend admin does not want to provide me with this URL or channel ID. He says that the only solution is to use Kodi.
