No episode info

Episodes are missing in the /xmltv/channels output file. They are shown in tvheadend but why are they missing in the downloaded xml file using http://the tv...

If you are interested in helping out, I can give you some tips. You could start out simply and add the onscreen tag in the XMLTV export.

What I'm doing is connecting to plex via the HDHomerun emulator on tvheadend.
Right now plex has the channels and plays but has no episodes for the channels.

Ok so doing the http://TVH_IP:9981/api/epg/events/grid give me the episode but just for an hour.
How would I convert or use as an epg.xml file?

I think this confirms my suspicions.

If you use Python libraries, you could:

Extract the channels list.
Convert that JSON to a Python Object.
Build the XMLTV channels section.
Extract the EPG as above.
Convert that JSON to a Python Object.
Build the XMLTV programmes section.
Save the XMLTV object to file.

If you can code in C, it could be more pragmatic to simply change the core application so that everyone can benefit.

With http://TVH_IP:9981/api/epg/events/grid I only get an hour of data how do I
get days worth? Don't understand how to use the api grid parameters.

Think I found the problem. Plex likes the episode in the description like this Description: S1E10 - show title and description
I had the epg setting in iptveditor feeding tvheadend like this Episode: S1E10
Correct epg format that works with plex looks like this:
