UI seems dead

Greetings:
Currently running TVH 4.3-2323_g73a6bd00d on a Raspberry PI 4 on version 11 (bullseye) (Linux 5.10.0-29-arm64). We recently had a rare power outage and now the UI appears completely non-responsive, usually. Rarely it's fine, sometimes very sluggish to the point of non-functional. Sometimes even with the UI down it records the scheduled programming without a problem. Sometimes it records nothing.

Will uninstalling TVH and re-installing resolve this? Will this retain the configuration/settings? Other recommendations?

Depending upon how you installed TVH and what package manager use used, maybe not.

You could backup/restore your configuration. However, you run the risk that a corrupt configuration file may be the source of the error.

When you say 'UI', do you mean the TVH built-in browser interface or a media player like Kodi?

Are you able to SSH to the device and see if there is a task hogging all of the CPU and/or RAM?

Following a power failure, could you have a corrupt file system somewhere?

SSH works fine and top reports 99+ percent idle
All filesystems are fine AFAIK

Power failures on RPis can be quite catastrophic, although they usually aren't. The hardware might be damaged, a filesystem might be damaged, one or more individual files might be damaged. Safest is to reinstall everything on a new SD card (assuming that's what you're using) and try again. If that works, you can try to examine the old card and see if you can find what's wrong/changed (diff, maybe?) or you can try to extract the configuration and transfer it to the new card (sorry, I don't know exactly what is involved in that). As DMC says, you need to check the contents of configuration files.

OK, so I've reinstalled the OS, upgraded to Raspbian 12 (bookworm), set the apt repo, and installed Tvheadend 4.3.2155 (installed all of the various updates as well). Everything seems to be working fine now, still tweaking to get back to normal, but I'll get there.
