With the information given so far, this really seems like a Kodi issue.
Kodi maintains an EPG cache in a local SQL database so it does not really need to go to TVH to do any searching. Also, "1601-01-01" seems to be some sort of epoch date within Windows, so this would be the expected value for a date field erroneously set to zero.
I had a quick look in the Kodi issues register on GitHub and I could not find any reference.
You could try installing a pre-release version of Kodi and see if that fixes the issue.

Just be careful because pre-release versions may not be 100% stable in all areas.
If the issue still occurs, I think that the best way to get the attention of 'Team Kodi' would be to lodge an 'issue' on GitHub.

You need to be careful because there is a set template requiring specific information and your issue will be rejected if it is not presented in the correct format.
