Some context: I do have an HDhomerun but we built a new house and it does not have an aerial on it for receiving DVB transmissions. Yes, I could download 20+ apps in order to get access to all of the FTA TV channels in the UK, but that is messy nonsense, so instead I want to use TVH to capture the legitimate IPTV streams from BBC, ITV, C4, C5 etc. and make those available on my network at home.
I am interested in waiting for Freely to be available, which could be an easier source for all FTA channels, but that is currently an unknown. Also, who knows what the quality will be like; I would expect them to take mezzanine quality streams from participant broadcasters then re-encode, but that is not known.
So I want to use TVH to capture streams from legitimate FTA providers in the UK and make available over my home network. I can get the streams working in the CLI via VLC, but this does not translate to success when using TVH. That is what my query is about: how do I set up BBC, ITV, C4, C5 and others in TVH, using BBC iplayer, ITVX etc. as sources for live broadcasts.
