A Blarb FreeBSD 13.1-STABLE amd64 I get this regularly on new services. Often after hours or days the service appears in the list. Is there some update mechanism that doesn't work?
Jonas Lang Force a complete rescan of all Muxes and map services again. What is the service you found. I’m using TVH 4.3 on Ubuntu 22.04 and don’t have that issue.
A Blarb I don't want to rescan all muxes when only one has changed or is new. My problem is that an existing and working (playing) service doesn't appear in the list of services to map.
Jonas Lang I’m suggesting a rescan to see if the service mapper is functioning correctly. It’s entirely up to you what you do. Did you build TVH yourself. I’m not too familiar with FreeBSD. For me TVH on Ubuntu/Debian has always been the most reliable option. I’ll leave it with you.
A Blarb This is a precompiled package, but it happens on a self-built version too. 4.3 is even older than 4.2.8 btw. I just don't understand the logic why the service is in the services list but not in the list to be mapped.
Jonas Lang You might want to look at this. https://github.com/tvheadend/tvheadend I never mentioned if one version was later than the other. I mentioned what worked for me. As you can see from the GitHub the version I’m using is being maintained. That’s why I’m using it. Otherwise you can build it yourself
A Blarb I managed to compile the current master version, but that hangs using 100% CPU as soon as I end a recording and I have to kill -9 it.
A Blarb I used the existing FreeBSD port and adjusted it to make it compile. I didn't search for deeper problems. Would have to debug it ...
