Hi,

Can anyone give me recommendations for receiving freeset as I can’t get it freeview where I live although I’m in the U.K.

I’m hoping for a standalone unit or something that could connect to a raspberry pi as I don’t have a PC to plug a PCI card into.

Thanks, I got one like the triax (mega sat) and connected it to a Synology NAS as there is a build for DSM 7. 8 tuners!

Both devices support DVB-S2X standard as well, plus
TBS 5930 supports VCM and multi stream, but you would not needed if only

Thanks, but I went for the Megasat - Synology DSM7 now doesn’t work with USB-based tuners.

Is it still the case ? i.e., is there any workaround or any system/tools update to allow a usb stick on DSM 7.x ? Or is this Synology completely impossible to use a USB stick ? (I have a Hauppauge! WinTV-dualHD and a TVButler 100TC)

Currently only Sundtek USB tuners are supported with Synology NAS Systems (DSM 6.x and DSM 7.x). The driver comes with a full DVB Stack.

Thanks for your reply. Is there a DVB-T2 USB stick available from Sandtek and are those also supported by Plex ?
Do you think this is lost of time trying to make my TVButler or Hauppauge work on a Synology ? (I was reading in another post that someone finaly get it working but that was back in 2020...)

Yes any device on Synology is just lost time, Synology has removed the Multimedia Stack and drivers from the system.

Sundtek drivers are rolled out with a separate TV stack which does not depend on the kernel version.
And yes there are DVB-T2 devices aailable from Sundtek.

Also pay attention when Synology updates the system Sundtek will still work - this is a big advantage, it has been like that for over 10 years.
