Use CI+ module to receive DVB-C signal?

`Hello. I am currently thinking about getting a cable subscription.

The way my providor (Vodafone Germany) does this is that they send you their Ci+ module with a smartcard.

Now, I would really like to use TvHeadend, preferably on my raspberry Pi, though, I couldn't find any hardware for reading Ci+ cards.

So, because I am a noob, I thought to just ask here. So, any ideas?

TL;DR: Would like to receive Cable-TV over TVHeadend with my providor's CI+ module and smartcard.

It need certificate with cost money but TVH is FREE.

You can use minisatip with can support it with modification.

Indeed CI+ not supported, but if you can get yourself hands on a module that is backwards compatible then it would work. That means a module that is CI+ certified, but CI backwards compatible. For example the Irdeto modules can and do work (DigiTV Romania). It's just an issue of finding a compatible model. Otherwise indeed the only route is minisatip. I was able to make it work in Tvheadend using a TechnoTrend AG TT-connect CT-3650 CI.

Hmm. What is it about minisatip that makes it CI+ compactible? And what devices can I use for CI+ with minisatip?

A extremly misleading statement.

A ENDUSER cannot buy CI+ certificate - its only B2B licensing.

Another misleading statement: withoutgood knowledge about the right kernel

device handling this will most probably not succeed. IF the used HW supports it.

So the first and important question is:

What hardware are you using ?

How can i connect smartcard module to raspberry?

I try to watch encrypted programs (I have smartcard from my provider) but don't know how.

I have a raspberry 3+ and xbox tunner, but don't find how to connect smartcam or anything about abot this.

Step 1: reset your TV to factory settings.
Step 2: connect your TV to the antenna.
Step 3: check the selected options in the menu.
Step 4: make the television search for channels.
Step 5: check the found channels.
Step 6: insert the CI+ module into your TV.

Can you confirm if you use the N3 card (for 4k channels) or N2 (for HDTV) with TT-Connect tuner?

i had a N3 card and that only worked with minisatip as it could read the CI+ standard (after getting the necessary files). currently i don't use tvheadend anymore as I switched back to windows for a while. but before that I was able to get an irdeto cam from digi. that worked in tvheaend with no problem as it's a "half" cam (as in it supports both Ci+ and CI)
