Buffering and breakup when using more than one tuner at one time

I just setup my system and when I use one tuner I have no issues and 0 errors (in subscription tab)

I have two tuners and when I use both together I start to get stuttering and apparent signal breakup and errors are reported on the subscription tab.

I have tried swapping the tuners around and I can report both work perfectly independently.

My system is a Raspberry Pi 4, using two Hauppauge 461e DVB-S2 tuners, running on 64bit Ubuntu. I'm using Ubuntu on this build because Hauppauge pointed me to new drivers that are compiled for Ubuntu.

The system load on the Raspberry Pi is minimal.

Where those new drivers compiled for Ubuntu on the raspberry pi [i.e. are you sure they're not x86]?

The drivers are installed with apt from a PPA repo, so the system should have pulled the correct files.. I think?

The drivers are clearly compiled for the correct architecture since they work for a single card. So there's some probably small problem preventing them working properly with two tuners.

I doubt that this is the best place to get help. I would think Hauppauge support is the first place to try since they apparently recommended the configuration. Otherwise there are various forums that have threads about them that might be worth looking at. For example:

From what I have read there are several hardware versions of the 461e, some don't work at all.

If one works fine on it's own it suggests the drivers are stable? although the continuity errors suggest signal issues?

For the moment I've removed the second tuner because there doesn't seem to be a fix. I suppose this point to a limitation on the Pi 4.

Interested in outcomes as I'm about to purchase my second Hauppauge tuner. RPi 4 should be more than capable of handling the two tuners, I suspect that there may still be an underlying OS/driver issue around USB

Pi dev board have IRQ problems and usb have problems with more then one device.

why not take some normal board as up-board or jaguarboard
