Hi all. First post. Might be a daft question but here goes. No problem or issue here, just a question.
I just bought a Hauppage dual DVB-T/T2/C tuner and connected it to a Raspberry Pi running TVheadend.
To my surprise, I can watch or record 8 (eight) channels at once. How is that possible? I know that 3 channels can be streamed with 2 tuners, so long as no more than 2 multiplexes are involved. But 8 ? Astonishing.
I chatted to "Elton" at Hauppauge support, asking the same question. He says is it is all down to the software.
Setup details:
Server: Pi 4 running Raspbian Buster, HTS Tvheadend 4.2.8-34, Kodi 18.4.
Client: I watched 8 channels using 8 instances of VLC 2.2.2 on my laptop, an 8 core machine running Linux Mint 18.3.
