My home entertainment systems has used TVHeadend to manage 4 HDHomerun tuners. Recently the only 2 local stations on VHF (7 and 9) became unreliable, at least through TVH. It turns out they are completely usable though the native HDHomerun interface. They are, however, weak signals relative to all the UHF broadcasts. My antenna setup only utilizes an amp for the UHF as it was put into service at a time when all ATSC broadcasts were UHF. That said, until recently the un-amplified VHF has been just fine. I'm not sure if they have lowered there power, or if something else is to blame.
The HDHomerun tuners receive the signal just fine. Signal strength is in the 45-55% range, and Signal Quality is >80%, and Symbol Quality is reported as 100%. In viewing the stream, it appears flawless.
The issue is that TVH refuses to recognize the signal anytime the strength falls bellow 50%. At those time, the previously recognized services become unusable. Forcing a full scan of the network, or a scan of the single MUX, results in failed scan result of the 2 VHF channels.
Is there a way to configure a lower minimum signal strength threshold?
