TVHeadEnd Install Fail - Kodi Front End via VMWare Player and LibreElec

Hi,

I am getting an error installing TVHeadEnd on my LibreElec Kodi install, which is part of a VMWare Player mount. I am getting an error that it cannot connect to 127.0.0.1:9982. This is not the IP address given for my install in Kodi however. I am not sure what to do in order to correct the problem. I do not have the option to configure the install before installing it in Kodi. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

IMHO the thing you are doing wrong is using LibreElec. You'd be better off in the long run to install Kodi and Tvheadend on a pure Ubuntu or Debian distro.

If anyone else feels differently, maybe they can help you with LibreElec. But the problem with LibreElec is it restricts your ability to do anything they don't want you to be able to do, and it also restricts your ability to use certain troubleshooting tools since you can't get to a Linux command prompt.

So you had a working??? kodi running on libreelec installed on a vmware machine and then you tried to add tvheadend?

1. kodi is telling you the database is full, which probably means your disk is full.
2. 127.0.0.1 is a loopback address which always represents the local machine.

3. most likely tvheadend is not running and maybe was not installed completely if the disk is full...

Basically this is NOT a tvheadend issue, but a libreelec problem which would be better to solve at the libreelec forum.

@K Shea, I generally agree, but if he does not know what localhost is, then installing a full distro and packages is probably beyond his current skill level (let alone using any troubleshooting tools...) For MANY people, using a pre-installed image that usually works is just fine.
