@Kev S: I had the same issue with my Cinergy C PCI for quite some time, the issue resolved itself after I swapped the motherboard. I doubt that's the problem in your case though since this was a PCI tuner, not USB.

I've a number of other tuners in my machine (MSI DigiVox DVB-T, KWorld Dual DVB-T, PCTV Nano 290e DVB-T2, and a Technotrend DVB-S) none of which experience the same problems. The only other tuner I saw the same problem with was a DM04 DVB-S satellite tuner (which did the same on my Windows laptop too).

Hi D. Photon, I bought DVBSky S952 (due your recommendation ;-) ), but i have some troubles with it - when I enable second tuner in tvheadend, stream from first tuner is stopped (HD in 5 second, SD more...). Is it same problem as your? There is no problem with driver config i think - no errors in log. With only one enabled tuner (first or second), is working everything fine.

Can your or anybody help me, please?

I don't have any problems like that with the s952.
Is that just after enabling the second device in tvh or by using a second streaming client (xbmc, ...)?
Please give a bit more information...

thank for your answer. It begin immediately after I enabled second tuner. Tuner is without (with fully configured is the same, of course) configured LNB, is only enabled...and stream from first tuner is frezing.

It sounds more like a hardware problem (shielding, ...?) Do you have the option to test the card in a windows environment?

I use a Sony Play TV USB tuner, can't remember how easy it was to set it up but it works very well and stable now.

This short post to confirm that a combination of DVBSky T982 Dual DVB-T2/T/C PCIe + DVBSKy S952 Dual DVB-S/S2 PCIe works great on Linux 12.04 Backend.

Driver & firmware installation procedure from DVBSky worked fine.

In comparison to my previous hardware (Reelbox including VDR in one box) the channel switching is a little slower (<2 sec vs 1 sec), but this is the consequence of the distant frontend.

I plan to order a second S952 to make use of the 4 available LBN outputs in the home network with additional frontends and/or multiple mux recordings.

A new happy member of this forum.

I am considering to buy this tunner, but I am in doubt about support(driver + firmware) and performance(usb 2.0)?

Quad if you only have one LNB. Otherwise you can use quattro and a multiswitch for one or several LNBs. Select appropriate switch...

I use a very cheap USB August DVB-T205 which is based on a Realtek RTL2832U. I works out of the box on Ubuntu 13.10, and I have seen all over the web how to install the drivers on older versions.

Is there any follow up to the TBS 6981 debacle?

I'm asuming the official TBS drivers are still buggy:

Looking for the best Dual DVB-S2 PCI card that I can buy (TVH+Openelec), should I still go for the TBS 6981 and get Louis' driver or which is in fact a better card nowadays (or down the road)?

Is the Digital Devices Cine dual S2 any better/faster than TBS 6981?

like I wrote some months ago, a combination of 1x DVBSky T982 Dual DVB-T2/T/C PCIe + 2x DVBSKy S952 Dual DVB-S/S2 PCIe works great on Ubuntu 12.04 Backend (currently 12.04.4 with kernel 3.11) .

Driver & firmware installation procedure from DVBSky worked fine and clients running 13.10 or W7 with XBMC frodo can watch tv simultaneously.

The only point I can't confirm is the stability when viewing encrypted channels: I only make use of FTA senders.

I have a Digital Devices Cine S2 with a DuoFlex S2 running successfully.
I followed the driver build instructions on their website and all works.

This gives me four DVB-S2 channels on tvheadend 3.4.27 under Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

Can you recommend me a good USB Device working well under ubuntu?

I have a tight budget so a cheap one would be good.

Hey all,

Im using 2 x Terratec Cinergy C (DVB-C) PCI HD.

This card is really great for DVB-C since you only need the Mantis Driver in the Kernel (=m) and NOTHING ELSE and it just works perfect under linux.
