I've been using tvheadend for a little while now and just recently have started having problems with it. I had it setup on a Debian 8 machine running on a VM environment with a Hauppauge USB card. I had issues with that setup but always thought it was the tuner. I recently bought a Hdhomerun device and have experienced more problems. On the Debian 8 system i would get hundreds (sometimes thousands) of data errors. I searched and was not able to resolve it so i rebuilt my system, this time using Ubuntu 16.
The Ubuntu setup doesnt has the high number of data errors (at least yet), its still higher than i'd like. A recording i made yesterday had 224, i didnt watch the stream live, but i typically dont see any visible issues when watching outside of tvheadend.
The main problem I'm having now i is with recordings. The "pass" streaming profile randomly stops recording but tvheadend indicates it is still recording. I switched (based on a post) to matroska, but it randomly splits my recording into multiple files (i think due to errors?). I've tried the other profiles but most of them generate a lot of data errors.
Is there a recommended setup i can use? Or anyone know how i can fix the data errors and pick a good profile?
