In Kodi you can sort the Recordings view by date. Is this not what you wanted?
If you want them organized by "group" in Kodi, in Tvheadend you can modify the recording profile to create a sub directory by channel and/or date, and then future recordings will be placed in these subdirectories. In Kodi, each subdirectory will be treated as a "group", so that they will display as folders in the Recording screen when you have the "Group recordings" option enabled. Unfortunately this only works for future recordings and won't aid in grouping past recordings.
