Folks, I'm getting disappointing results when trying to seek forwards/backwards in recordings, and I could use a little help in understanding what is reasonable to expect.
My setup is a headless Ubuntu server running Tvheadend 4.0.9-6, with a Raspberry Pi 2 running an OSMC build of Kodi 17 as the front end.
Playback of recordings essentially works fine. Skipping ahead or backwards in increments of 30s is also fine. What doesn't work so well is trying to fast-forward or rewind at say 4x or 8x speed; basically the picture just freezes up rather than showing any video as it goes. Worse, if I rewind for a while, I often can't resume playback at all - the picture just freezes until I stop the playback altogether.
I'm aware that I'm demanding quite a lot of both the front and back-ends here, but I wonder if there is any obvious configuration that I might have missed which could help improve this.
Also: apologies if this is an idiotic question which comes up all the time. I looked through the forums and documentation, but couldn't really find anything helpful.
