I don't live in the Barreiro Area, and i tried a couple of those and failed.

Ok so i went to my cable provider store and asked for the frequencies and other parameters and i got this:

This shows that i should find at 714 Mhz, a Symbol Rate of 6875 (6975000 ?) and a Modulation/Constelation of QAM-64.

But i get NOTHING :(, i borrowed another tv tunner even, an eye-tv hibrid, and got the same frustrating results.

My crappy old tv is still 1.000x easier, just auto scan and done, unbelievable.

Can you try something like w_scan & see if that actually see's anything? If that fails to find anything then that would suggest there is an issue with the system/driver. If you do get something from w_scan that should tell you what you need to enter in Tvheadend.

You've said that the device is working on Windows, so it should work perfectly fine on Linux provided that the driver isn't causing any issues, hence why I suggest you try w_scan. If that does output something Tvheadend should also have no issues tuning to the frequency.

What has been written in that thread is true, you can't normally install things on libreelec, but the good news is that from what I understand is that w_scan is already included on libreelec 8 beta, so you may want to give that a try using a USB stick.

See: https://libreelec.tv/downloads/preview/ and the commits "here" mention that w_scan is now included. You just need to install it via the addons menu (select dvb-tools).

Thank you, finally i could use w_scan. Unfortunately my tvtunner doesn't work with the beta, but at least the one i borrowed did..

I'm getting a lot of warnings and errors, what's wrong? But it did find some services, i'm going to try these now.

Ok, so i ran one of those frequencies:

f = 240500000
sr = 6000000

constelation = QAM/256

and BAM! Finally i saw other muxes being added, i mapped all services found and headed to the interface, but all the channels that were found seem to be the ones i don't have access to, premium channels, or HD versions of the ones i do, and i've tried to play the channels and although tvheadend client gets the schedule of the channel, i can't see nothing.. is there any clue in the output?

Would you expect to be getting "RTP Alores"?

If so, try

f = 261500000
sr = 6000000

constelation = QAM/256

It's possible that the FTA services have been placed in a different network to the Pay TV ones, hence why it's not added those? w_scan certainly references two different network ID's although they look the same.

Are there any of the services you can see on Windows in the w_scan output?

That is one of the muxes it finds when i add the 1st one. So adding one or another has the same effect, the same muxes get automatically added.

I get 24 muxes in total of which only 8 don't fail here are they:

f: 170500000; sr: 6000000; QAM/256
f: 184500000; sr: 6000000; QAM/128
f: 219500000; sr: 6000000; QAM/256
f: 240500000; sr: 6000000; QAM/256 (the one i initially tried)
f: 247500000; sr: 6000000; QAM/128
f: 254500000; sr: 6000000; QAM/256
f: 261500000; sr: 6000000; QAM/256 (the one you suggested)

f: 714000000; sr: 6875000; QAM/64 (WAIT WHAT? i tried this one yesterday, i don't think this one showed up in my first try )

Yes i'm sure that last one didn't show up when i tried the 1st one because now i see a few more services, and on those new are the unencrypted channels i see on windows :D And IT WORKED :D wow, it finally did.
