IPTV Radio not behaving well with XBMC

Hi,

I was using a tvheadend setup with two sources: dvb-c and iptv.

yesterday decided to 'dump' the dvb-c hardware and switch to iptv only.

I just noticed that now my iptv radio channels which are tagged 'Radio' are not showing up in xbmc as radio channels but as tv channels?

The DVB-C radio channels (and the merged iptv radio channels) used to work correctly.

I have been googling around and found these two patches that apparently add IPTV Radio support making me believe tat this might be the problem: https://github.com/andoma/tvheadend/pull/52

Does anybody else see this behavior with iptv radio channels and have a clue on how to fix?

Hi,

can confirm that this: https://github.com/andoma/tvheadend/pull/52/commits fixes the problem.

XBMC recognizes the Radio channels and is able to play them again.

Can theses patches be reviewed and incorporated into the master?

Hi,
I had implemented these patches manually and dushmanianc over at xbmc forum implemented them in his 'fork' of tvheadend.
It was possible to add a iptv service and mark it as a radio channel so xbmc would display it in the list of radio channels.
After installing the new tvheadend version 3.x this functionality is lost.

There is no way (other then editing the respective iptvservices file manually (adding 'radio=1')

Is there any other way that I am missing?

@edit: just found this link, conclusion is that it should already be working? it doesn't... at least not for me :( (https://github.com/tvheadend/tvheadend/pull/52)

Everything that was in opendkamps repo was pretty much assumed OK and merged (by me) when the project restarted. This included the IPTV radio stuff, although I did make a few mods to make it more compatible with the rest of the code.

I believe the setting is more generic in 3.2 (or master) but I'm sure I added code to process the old flag to keep existing users of opdenkamps (and OE's) versions happy.

There should be a drop-down (I think) in the IPTV config that allows you to select the service type (you might need to make the column visible).

Hi Adam,
making the column visible did the trick! I am now able to change the type to radio and it is showing up in XBMC in the radio channels list :)
