PCTV 292e and HD channels

Running TV Headend 4.0.9-4 on Ubuntu 14.04.4 with kernel 4.2.0-35. TV cards are NovaT and PCTV292e.

Two questions, is it possible to record HD channels from the PCTV292e and if so how?

Can TV head sort out having two cards, one of which is SD only and the other able, in theory, to also tune to HD channels? Both tuners are working fine on SDTV from UK Crystal Palace. W-scan seems to be able to tune to the HD multiplexer but does not report any channels.

Yes, just create another network, add the HD only muxes, then assign that network to the HD adapter (You can assign multiple networks to one adapter).
